Bruce Harris

BRUCE HARRIS Bruce passed away on July 15 after an unsuccessful, but mercifully short battle with cancer. His Family were privileged to be with him throughout. Bruce was 63 and embraced a life he led to the full. His career was rich and varied, from early beginnings as a qualified butcher, through his years in business development in Rossendale and Rochdale, to possibly his most rewarding and enjoyable latter career as a consultant in countries as diverse as Georgia, Ukraine, Mongolia and lastly in Turkey Bruce had a zest for enjoying himself which age and experience did not diminish. He sustained this attitude until the point at which he was taken ill He leaves a Wife Liz, Children Luke, Joel and Lauren and Grandchildren Jake, Jade and Gareth. He also leaves an enormous circle of Friends, Colleagues and acquaintances around the world who have contacted the Family to express their sorrow and share their memories of Bruce's sartorial elegance and his conviviality. There will be a Service at Christ Church, Bacup at 12.30pm on Friday July 23 followed by committal at Burnley Crematorium. The Family would then like to welcome everyone to join them for an informal gathering at the Crown Inn, Bruce's favourite pub, on Greave Road Family flowers, only but a donation, if wished, can be made to Littleborough Sports Club, where Bruce spent many years playing cricket and rugby and also training junior rugby or to Rossendale Hospice, whose help was invaluable
