It’s coming up on one year now and I still have to catch myself every time I go to Lowe’s. I still look for you, the minute I walk through the door. I am so grateful that we took the time to make things right. There were so many things I needed to tell you. But mostly I needed to see you smile. You are . Always have been.. Always will be until I see you smile again.. Ducklips ♡

After meeting Bruce in Lowe's, it was apparent that he had never met a stranger. It was my aunt, uncle, girlfriend and myself. We went to order some shower doors and ended up spending over an hour talking about EVERYTHING from DIY home improvements; marriage; the military; and the police force. When I cussed, I excused myself and he laughed. After listening for awhile I understood why he laughed when I excused myself. After that, no conversation was off limits. It was like that every visit! Up until his leave, we went into Lowe's only wanting to talk with him or Rick. My girlfriend went into Lowe's today and asked for him and Rick broke the news. Just in the short time we've talk with Bruce, we knew he was larger than life; not to mention stubborn. Bruce was a reminder that life is to be lived on your own terms. He was also a reminder that no matter how different we are, there a good people in this world! I send energies of comfort, peace, endurance, and love to Kim and everyone that Bruce knew and loved! May his light continue to shine through you all.

My prayers are with the Hart family. Bruce was friends with my brothers and I would see him often when we were kids and my brothers teenagers. Bruce was always very nice and friendly. I had no idea he was in Law Enforcement to my surprise because I too was a sheriff’s deputy in Jefferson Parish for decades and never crossed paths with our agencies. RIP my fellow LEO !
