Vale Father Bruce ; such a gentle and deep thinking Christian - we were blessed to have known you as the Bishop of Willochra and the roles you played in so many of our family milestones.

50 years after meeting Bruce in England we resumed our friendship in the 2000's. He was a wonderful man with a great sense of humour. He never had a negative comment about anything or anybody. I will miss him.

It was a privilege to be present at the service to give thanks for Bruce's life and commit him to God's eternal care. I am thankful to God for his friendship with and pastoral care of my mother, Jennifer Cashmore, for the last 40 years, but particularly in the last 12 months as his health declined. Mum would have loved to have been there, but personal circumstances made it impossible. When I think of Bruce, I think of the words of Jesus "I have come that they might have life, and have it in abundance".

I am ever so grateful that Bruce and I met up early December last year after more than half a century.
I very much enjoyed those occasional brief chats we had at his letter box in Wyalkatchem when I was one of the town's posties for a couple of years in the 1960s.
