I am not a Veteran of the Australian Military but my Son is currently in Active Service in the Army here. I would like to thank President Ruxton for his memorable honourable service to our Country first and foremost. Thank you for your service Mr. Ruxton. Then I would like to thank him and his family for their Fantastic Service to our Service Men and Women. I supported his stances on many things over the years and I believe he was a great man and a good friend to anyone who ever put on a Uniform to serve our Great Country and its People. THANK YOU to Bruce and his Family for Everything. You are all in my Families Prayers.
Just for the record - I live in Australia not Canada or the U.S.A. it would not let me post till i chose one of their states!

Mr. Ruxton lived a full, busy and rewarding life. I met him when I was State Secretary of the Royal United Services Institute, of which he was a member. He would attend the monthly speaker lunches if the subject was of interest; again at the RSL Conferences at Caulfield Racecourse, and when he presented the President of the Blackburn RSL with an award in 2000. He is now at rest. My sympathy to Mrs. Jill Ruxton.

I met you once and it was one of the most memorable days of my life. My mother told you I loved you and you looked me in the eye and told me you loved me to and that I was beautiful I was 23 years old. I have never forgotten that day and the hug you gave me. Bruce you served your country as a member of the ADF and then afterwards served your mates of the ADF, both with honour. If ever a state funeral was due, it is due to you. Your "Say it as you see it" endeared you to most and was a red flag to some, but no one will argue, your heart was in the right place. Stand down cobber, let others take their turn. Deepest sympathy to your family and friends

Bruce was there to remind us to respect our military and taught us many valuable lesson in not only history, but of Australia's achievements during the Great Wars and other noteworthy conflicts. There is not enough superlatives to describe Bruce and his legacy he has left on Australia. You have fought hard, rest in peace. At the going down of the sun, we will remember you

Bruce Ruxton made me realise how lucky I am to be born and live in Australia. He made me aware of the sacrifices of service men & women, which would have otherwise swept over my head. Sure he was outspoken, but he gave me an awakening with his incisive speeches regarding our nation and its people. I am honoured to have learned from this great Australian.
