A great man and great leader. Always happy to help and provide advice and counsel regardless of the size of the organization. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

My start in journalism was with Bruce at the south town Economist and Bulletin newspaper. He was the most wonderful and caring individual. He walked many roads of supporting high humanist ideals that were controversial and unusual for his time. Trailblazer. His wife Betty is a wonderful woman

It's hard to put into words what Bruce Sagan meant to Chicago and communities far and wide. He was the most "giving" person one could know with his generous and continuing contributions across the board. He and I were on the Steppenwolf Board of Directors together, and if not for him, Steppenwolf would never have had their original theatre built. Bruce found new ways of receiving funding which allowed that theatre to be built and continue to serve the arts at 1650 a. Halsted. I was honored to know him.

I never knew Grandpa Bruce, but I do know his granddaughter is a truly wonderful person with a deep well of love, compassion, and integrity. Reading Bruce's story, I see how Amelia's light came to shine so bright - what an incredible family legacy! Sending love and care to the extended Sagan family in the wake of what must be a very difficult loss.
