Bryan "Pop-Pop, Chopper, Bry" Curran passed away on September 23, 2025, in Essex, Maryland, at the age of 73. Born on May 9, 1952, in Baltimore, Maryland, Bryan lived a life marked by service, devotion to family, and a deep love for the open road.

Bryan proudly served his country in the United States Army for three years. During his military tenure, he was stationed at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier-an honor reserved for those who exemplify discipline and dedication-and retired with the rank of Sergeant. His commitment to duty continued long after his military service ended.

For three decades, Bryan dedicated himself to protecting and serving the citizens of Baltimore City as a motors police officer. His presence on two wheels became a familiar and reassuring sight to many throughout the city. Known for his professionalism and courage, he earned respect from colleagues and community members alike during his 30 years of distinguished service.

Beyond his career and military service, Bryan found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved riding motorcycles-feeling the wind on his face and the freedom of the road beneath him. Dancing brought him happiness and energy that was contagious to those around him. But above all else, he cherished spending time with his family.

He was a loving partner for 25 years to Dawn Jessa. A devoted father to three daughters including Sara Curran-Kellogg and her husband David. As "Pop-Pop," he delighted in watching his five grandchildren, including Tim and Zach. His pride in them was boundless.

Bryan was also a beloved brother to Robert and Mark; a cousin to many; and an uncle deeply loved by numerous nieces and nephews. His warmth extended far beyond immediate family-he had a way of making everyone feel like they belonged.

He was preceded in death by his mother Geraldine Bryan and father Robert Curran.

A man of faith, Bryan worshiped first at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Essex, MD and most recently at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Bowleys Quarters, MD.

Bryan leaves behind a legacy of honor through service, joy through shared moments with loved ones, and strength through unwavering dedication to those he held dear.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. Friends may call at the Bruzdzinski Funeral Home P.A., 1407 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex, Maryland 21221, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 PM, where a funeral service will be held at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, or The National Fraternal Order of Police.

Bryan, one of the nicest people I know. You were a great friend and neighbor. I will miss getting Crabs, and going to many, many dinners with you and Dawn. You two had something special for 25 years. I will miss you on your bike riding up and down the street, sometimes stopping and wanting me to take a ride with you. My answer always was, `I´m not a motorcycle momma´. He laughed and said he would go slow. He was so caring and thoughtful. RIP

Bryan, you have always been a great brother-in-law and we always had a good relationship
You and Dawn did so many things for our family, including shoveling snow for Dad and Elaine and making sure they had groceries, even providing all the food for our family Christmas Eve dinner the year Dad was in hospice and taking me to many appointments when I couldn't drive and countless more.
Dawn was your loving partner for 25 years and took care of you through your cancer treatments
I will miss you and I will keep you in my prayers.
Thanks for the memories.

What wonderful memories we have of cooking out in your backyard. You and your devoted partner Dawn always made us feel welcome while you kept us laughing with your stories. Your amazing daughter Sara, her loving husband David, your adoring grandsons Tim and Zach, opened their home and graciously showed us the sights in Baltimore. Rest in peace and thanks for the memories.

On September 23 this messed up world we live in lost a great man with Bryan's passing. Bryan was the best father-in-law I could have ever asked for and I wouldn't have changed anything about the wonderful 27-year relationship I had with him and all the amazing memories created. He was an amazing and loving father to Sara, Deana and Chrissy, grandfather to Tim, Zach, Alexa, Hunter and Austin and partner to Dawn Jessa along with being a great friend to so many. He lived a life of service and helped so many and knew literally everyone or knew "someone who knows someone that can help you". I take comfort in knowing his worldly suffering is over and I pray he now gets that much needed rest with his Lord and Savior and someday we all get to have a wonderful reunion with him.

Dear Poppop,
You'll always be the man that I looked up to Physically and metaphorically. You're the man who taught me how to fish, Change the oil in a harley before I could even ride a petal bike, and fix almost anything. You've always been my hero and inspiration throughout my life. You made me want to be a cop till you convinced me otherwise when you retired. You've taught me the right and wrong way to do things. You taught me how to use a tape measure but the impact You've made on me is immeasurable. You'll always have a special place in my heart that no one else could fill.

Love, Timmy
