Grandad, I'm really, really sad that I didn't get a chance to come and visit you with Dad or to show you around La Broquerie. I know you would love it.
Even though the distance kept us from seeing each other, I think about you often. I love hearing all your stories about your adventures in the countryside. One of my favorites was the story of how you got lost, climbed a fence, scraped up your leg, washed it off in a creek and carried on walking home like it was no big deal, even in your 80's! Of course I don't like that you got hurt there, but I love how that story shows so much about you - your resilience, your sense of curiosity, your positivity, your independence, and your sense of humor.
These traits of yours inspire me to adventure, to keep smiling, and to stay young at heart. Even though I was still really little, I'll never forget the big plate of cookies you had with your tea in the afternoon in Thunder Bay, right after playing a jaunty violin solo in your apartment with Grandma. I still remember you standing on the end of the dock with Uncle Dave at Arrow Lake, taking your time to enjoy the beautiful sunset. And I certainly won't forget going to the Sunday car show down the street from our house in Winnipeg with you, and the excitement that lit you right up when you checked out all the awesome motorcycles there. I always wanted to be like you in those ways - to be playful, to enjoy each moment, and to be unabashedly passionate about your interests.
Despite the literal ocean between us, you always supported me and Ryan in everything we did. We always knew you were right there with us in spirit, and we know you always will be. It was always so easy to tell how much you loved us.
Although now I'll miss you more than usual, I won't forget those special memories and happy lessons you left for us. Say hi to everyone in heaven for me.
Lots of love always,
Amanda Rose.

I remember Bryan from when he lived on Raw Lane. One of the nicest men you could meet. So gentle and kind.

Our condolence goes out to all of Bryan's family. Although we did not know him well the family's memories and photos are a wonderful incite to Bryan and how much he was loved. May he rest in peace.

My dad's younger brother was a favourite uncle who always spoiled me when I was a child. He took me on the back of his motorcycle and this made him really really special. In recent years when both my parents were in residential care and in poor health, my uncle Bryan was always there to visit and reminisce. They loved him dearly. A very sweet and gentle man.

Grandad, keeping you in my heart always... I am extremely lucky to have had you as my grandad. I will cherish the memories of you making me sandwiches with French fries or potato chips between slices of buttered bread, going for long walks all through the parks and then at the marina while you wore hour slippers, playing silly games, listening to you play a tune on your violin while I sat outside yourclosed bedroom door so I was only able to hear you play and not see you play lol. I have so many cherished memories of you.... but most of all I will always remember how much you made me feel loved. Love you forever, your grand daughter, Julie
