Bud Gearhart was born on August 20, 1933, in Baltimore, Maryland the son of George and Anna Louise (Curtain) Gearhart. Upon finishing school, he entered into the United States Marines. After his discharge he then ventured to Wyoming, where he worked on various ranches and rode bulls. But he was truly in his glory when he was in the mountains on his horse Dew. He had three daughters: Lynn, Bonnie and Lorna. Bud met and married the love of his life Beverly Smith. Together they raised four children: Steve, Gary, Ron and Rhonda. Bud started his career in Carlin Gold Mine in Carlin, Nevada and then moved to Gillette, Wyoming where he was employed at the Cordero Coal Mine. When he retired from Cordero he found himself working for the state in Fort Bridger, Wyoming and then was employed at various businesses for fun. Bud enjoyed playing softball, racquetball, fishing, and rodeos. He made time to watch all of his kids in their sports activities. Sunday's were always left open to watch the Denver Broncos. Later on he enjoyed watching the grandchildren participate in all of their activities. Grandpa always enjoyed getting the family together, celebrating birthday's or one of our world famous BBQ's.
