William Robert “Buddy” Egbert, 84, of Lawrenceburg formerly of Versailles, husband of Brenda Peach Egbert, passed away August 22, 2020.  Born June 4, 1936 in Woodford County, KY, Buddy was the son of the late Robert and Daisy Mae Redman Egbert. 


Along with his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Slatten, and two brothers, Marvin Egbert and Bobby Egbert. 


Buddy served his county in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 – 1958.  He formerly worked as a contractor and for 31 years at Texas Instruments in Versailles.  A member of Kings Way Assembly Church in Versailles, Buddy enjoyed fishing, horse racing, watching Westerns, going to Cracker Barrel, and loved spending time with his family and friends. 


Including his wife Brenda, Buddy is survived by his children, William Robert Egbert, Jr. (wife Trish), Mark Anthony Egbert, Felicia Ann Egbert, and Brandon Scott Egbert (wife Pam), all of Versailles; step children, Nathan Hoskins (wife Bobbi) of Willisburg, Ray Hoskins (wife Gail) and Sharon Chesser (husband Troy) all of Lawrenceburg; 14 grandchildren, Jake Egbert, Brittany Egbert, Erinn Egbert, Blake (Elizabeth) Egbert, Justin Rhinesmith, Hailey Egbert, Sara (Mike) Lacey, Magen (Tyler) Hembree, Kaylee (Isaac) Sutton, Jenna Hoskins, Jerrod Durr, Alexa Hoskins, Colton Hoskins, Breanna (Matt) Hartley, MaKayla Chesser; 3 great grandchildren; two brothers, Granville Lee (Alma) Egbert of Versailles and Michael J. Egbert of Frankfort. 


Service will be held on Tuesday, August 25th beginning at 1:00 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Pastor Jeff Johnson and Pastor Mike Krupa will officiate the service.  Burial with military honors will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be 6 – 8 PM Monday and after 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. 


Memorials are suggested to the Bluegrass Hospice Care, 643 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601 or Kings Way Church, 4175 Lexington Rd., Versailles, KY 40383. 


Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg, KY.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.ritchieandpeach.com 


To abide by the regulations set forth by the State of Kentucky all persons attending a visitation or funeral (public or private) will be required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.  Fifty (50%) occupancy of the funeral home will be in practice.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
