Buddy Greene

We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Buddy. He was such a loving person. He always welcomed us with a handshake and hug. He treated us like family. Your family will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

You helped me get through the burial of both my parents, many friends over the years, and you will be handling one of my childhood friends in the next few days, as well, Walter Covington. I grew up knowing you during my teenage years, and I will always hold a place in my heart for all of you, and everything you have done for me. When my Mother died, I called from CA, not sure what I was doing, I just needed to get her home, and Buddy told me just let us handle things, and we'll see you when you get here. It is the strength their words can give you during your weakest moments that mean so much. I will always be grateful to each of you. This is such a loss to the entire community, my heart goes out to you now. My prayers are with your family today and may God give you peace in the weeks and months to come. Godspeed to you Buddy...may you rest in eternal peace.

I couldn't begin to offer any words that would be good enough for Buddy. As long as I remember Buddy has taken care of my family and friends. When my daddy died in 1991 he and I was living in Georgetown. One call to Buddy, from me, and he took care of everything. When he gave his word his heart was in it. Even though I no longer live in Rock Hill I can say we all have lost a good friend, but Heaven has gained one of the best.

I am so sorry for your lost me along with everyone who knew Buddy loved him . I wish i could have come but due to health promblens i was unable to attend please know all of you are in my thoughts and prayers .

I haven't seen you since our days at Winthrop and attending your wedding but always would send my hello's whenever I would run into someone from the funeral home. Mr. Greene has always held a special place in our family. He has been more than a funeral director, he was a friend. He has been there for the Starnes family thru many deaths and always gave of his strength to us. I pray for the family as they lay this wonderful man to rest.

One more piece of Rock Hill's history passed away with Buddy. He and his whole family have been the rock citizens like me depended on in times of need. He will be greatly missed by all. My prayers are with the entire Greene family.

Rock Hill & York County grew up with the Greene family because they make you feel as such! When my Grandfather died (as most of my family) and everyone was noisy, crying and felt insecure, lost and vulnerable...Buddy Greene walked in my Grandparents home, sat on the sofa and wrapped his arms around my Grandmother as he said in his ever-so-calming voice, "Sugar, everything is gonna be alright..we are gonna make sure of that!" and they did!! Nobody or no funeral home will ever touch the compassionate spirit instilled at Greene Funeral Home!! That spirit is handed down continually through his children Susan & Frank because they were raised to put other families first with love & compassion...now it's their turn as we all are there for Precious wife Doris, Daughters Susan & Diana and Son Frankie & rest of the family as they need us most right now. All the giving, caring & compassion can now be sent in return through many facets but especially love and prayers!! It's truly a sad time in our community to lose a precious, special man such as Buddy..our loss is heavens gain! We love you Greene Family!! GODSPEED
