Bunk Salmon

Edmond Milton Salmon Jr, known as "Bunk" by family, friends, and acquaintances, passed away at the age of 86 on Sunday Feb 2, 2025 in Carmel, California.

Bunk was born in Hiawatha, KS on March 6, 1938, to Edmond Milton Salmon Sr (PeeWee) and Levita Merle Turner.

Bunk joined the Marines at an early age and exuded pride about being an American and a Marine. He was fond of movies about war, cowboys, and history and even took his family to see "Patton" at a drive-in movie theater in Chickasha, OK. He faithfully watched Peanuts (Charlie Brown) and Bugs Bunny cartoons, The Ten Commandments and The Wizard of Oz.

Bunk lived the majority of his adult life in Anadarko, OK where he worked as an Officer for the Anadarko Police Force and then in Construction until he retired.

He had a heart for cats and dogs and enjoyed having, at least one of each, in his presence. He also enjoyed cars, speed boats, engines, guns, and sweets.

Bunk is survived by a sister, Pat Miller and husband Jerry Miller of Gladstone, MO, his significant other, Patricia (Buffy) Brennan of Carmel, CA, ex-wife Rita Salmon of Oklahoma City, OK, daughter, Kim Norton and husband DeWayne Norton of Wayne, OK, daughter Dawna Bell and husband Dino Bell of Oklahoma City, OK, son Jeff Salmon of Oklahoma City, OK, and son Timothy Salmon of Oklahoma City, OK, 8 grandchildren, Chad Norton, Josiah Norton, Karissa Shepard, Kara Shaffer, Hannah Salmon, Alec Salmon, Avery Salmon, Zach Salmon and 4 great grandchildren, Elijah Norton, Eevee Norton, Isaac Norton, Nevaeh Salmon, and several nieces and nephews.

Bunk was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond Salmon Sr and Levita Turner, sisters, JoAnn Ramsey, Beverly Edgmon, Dixie Edwards, daughter in law, Cheryl (Blevins) Salmon and three grandchildren, Brandi LaRae Ware, Austin Salmon, and Wyatt Salmon.

No services will be held. Bunk's immediate family would like to thank Pat Brennan and her children for their care and support in the last years of his life.
