BURT STEPHEN
Age 47, of North Versailles, suddenly on Saturday, April 16, 2005. Caring son of Marian (Dahmen) Pastor and the late Daniel Emmitt Dahmen; beloved husband of Mary Lou (Beam) Dahmen; loving father of Lindsey Dahmen and Dana (McQuade) Beresford; grandfather of Tyler & Kaylee Beresford; brother of Linda Pearse, Frank & Dan Dahmen; loving son-in-law of Anne & Ben Calcutta. Burt was a purchaser for Pittsburgh Cut Flower in Pittsburgh for 28 years and also a member of the Wilkins Twp. VFW. Friends will be received Tuesday & Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME INC. corner of Shaw & Triboro Avenue, Turtle Creek. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Colman Church, Thursday at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Burt Dahmen Memorial Fund, PO Box 110, Turtle Creek, PA 15145.

I feel incredably fortunate to have had the chance to work side by side with Burt the last three years, and I wish I had more time to learn from his wisdom, generosity, kindness , openess and enlightend perspective of life. I value every moment I spent with Burt, I always told him he was my dad away from my dad, and he taught me so much, everything I learned about PCF was because of Burt. I could go on and on about how much I admired him, but I will cut this short and say that my thoughts are with his beautiful family, and that I loved him, and will severly miss him. Many years ago, a man lectured me that "You don't have friends, just aquaintences." I used to hold this belief to be true. I now know that the man was wrong. Moreover, I was wrong. Burt Dahmen was many things to many people.He was a beloved husband to his wife, and a caring father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren. He was a good son and a loyal employee. While I have only known Burt for the last eleven years in the floral business, I had a tremendous amount of respect for him. He was always sharp, always on top of things, and took good care of his customers at PCF. They and I will sorely miss his expertise and calm demeanor. I will only have nice memories of this very good man. This is a terrible loss.

I was so sorry to hear about Burt.
I don't know if he told you. but Herky and I visited with him at Pgh.
cut on Friday. We laughed about how long I had been mia and he was really proud of his new buyer position. He also bragged about his girls and grandchildren. My heart goes out to you and your family and I will keep you all in my prayers.
