Burton C. Hallowell

I remember my mother speaking of Burton fondly and often she was so proud of him. My mother was Mildred E. (Arlington) Schofield. She and Burton were cousins and upon my mother´s death I wrote Burton a letter to tell him of her passing. He wrote back and was very happy to hear from me and remembered my Mom fondly as well. Rest in peace to you both.

Deepest sympathies on behalf of my late parents Fairlee and William Hersey and the other Tufts graduates in our family.

President Hallowell was a fine man and an important leader of Tufts. His balanced and kind approach served the university well during one of its more difficult periods
