Burton B. Hobbs

PITTSFORD - Burton B. Hobbs, 84, died Friday, May 12, 2017, at his home.
He was born Aug. 2, 1932, in Pittsford, the son of Fred and Edith (Hier) Hobbs.
He graduated in 1952 from Middlebury Union High School Class.
Mr. Hobbs was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War from 1952-1966.
He was employed for many years as a baler operator at Troy Textile Mills in New Hampshire and was a member of the Vermont State Fair Association for over 30 years.
He enjoyed farming and was an avid New York Yankees fan.
Survivors include five daughters, Faith Hobbs, Kimberly Baird, both of Rutland, Jennifer Spadjinske, of Arizona, Kelly Spadjinske, of Milford, New Hampshire, and Melissa Richardson, of Marion, Iowa; a son, Randall Hobbs, of Salisbury, North Carolina; three siblings, Albert Hobbs, of East Middlebury, Barbara Loomis, of Hydeville, and Maureen Ash, of Gansevoort, New York; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 19, at Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at the funeral home.
Burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Pittsford.
