C. THOMAS KEIL Jr.

We still remember our band camp days and all the fun we had, plus all the work in the kitchen preparing desserts and foods for the kids........those days are far gone.....we talk of you often Tom...Tony retired from the Marine Corp in June after 30 years.......we are very proud of him.....so to pass his time away he is driving a school bus for Chartiers Valley.......to tell the you truth, I told him to apply for the job and of course he passed his CDL.
And believe it or not, he really enjoys the kids. They call him Mr. Tony and on veterans day many gave him thank you cards for his service........
Frank and I now have 9 great grandchildren......wow, remember when I told you we were expecting our first and your reply was: "wow, that is fantastic".......rest in peace dear friend, we still talk about you.....

Mr. Keil was always our mentor and leader............the best of the best........when I get together with some of my band friends, we always have something to say about him.........especially band camp at Seven Springs and the shaving cream battle...........he always wondered where we hid our lotion............rest in peace dear friend.

Wow, so hard to believe that Tom has been gone this long.........but, he is in the arms of our dear Lord and leading the Angels in the Angels band with leader Tom Keil...........we still talk about band camp and the fun we had............those days will never be forgotten............his memory will always be in our hearts...

I was able to meet with Tom a couple of years ago in Hilton Head, where I have lived for 20 years. I am so glad we were able to get together for one last time. Rene take care and thanks for bring Tom into so many peoples lives, you were his guiding light. I just read about Randy Edward and that is when I found out about Tom. Take care and remember Tom will be missed.

I am so sorry to have just learned of Tom's passing. My best memories of CVHS are wrapped around time with the Keils -- band camp, theatre productions, and more. I will never forget his quiet smile. Even when he was getting his students to get back in line (literally, in drills) and even when he was trying to be serious in doing so, he always had this loveable smile that made you know how much he cared about you and the team. I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Tom. Some of my most fondest memories growing up were trips to the lake with all of you. Oh, and I can't forget our yearly Christmas Eve mornings. Him dressed as Santa, showing up on my doorstep w/ his cooler. He was a fantastic man who was so proud of his family.

Alix - I hope you can find comfort in the days, months, and years ahead knowing how much your father loved you. I was there to witness so many times his constant protection of you along w/ his proudest moments. His memory will live on through you.

It seems pretty obvious from viewing this guest book that the Keil Family had quite a lasting impact on a lot of people. What greater legacy could a person ask for in the end? Mom and Dad Keil made a terrific impact on directing activites while daughter did a great job as a performing artist. I am sure Tom is in heaven looking for former SHOW BAND members to put on a concert.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of a very special person. As a CV showband member, I always admired Mr. Keil's firm organizational manner, yet fun-loving sense of humor. I wasn't very talented as a clarinet player, but I definately had a love for the band. I also sincerely respected the harmony that Mr. Keil developed not only with our music, but also with the people. My deepest condolences to family and friends.

I had Mr.Keil for band at the "old" highschool for 3 years. He always insisted that we do our best but could also laugh heartily when band members would joke around. My sympathy and thoughts to the Keil family.

Mr Keil was my band director CV class of 78. I Always loved the way he could get notes out of us during performance that we could never hit in practice. So sorry to hear of his passing. He was 1 of the people who began a life love of music in me.

He was my band teacher for six years in marching, concert, and symphonic bands and I can't begin to tell you the influence he has had on my school years and my life. When we would perform a difficult number during a concert band performance, if we played it with perfection he would give us the biggest smile that the audience couldn't see but we knew that he was proud of us. Dear Mrs Keil and Alix, I have nothing but great memories of Mr Keil from the three years that I was a CharValette. I will remember his great smile and he always seemed to keep his cool and make us feel special.We were so proud to be a part of the CV showband. I think the 20 dear children in Newtown needed a music teacher in Heaven and God sent for the best. I'm so sorry I can't attend the memorial but I will remember him forever. Tom was a man and a teacher who touched the lives and hearts of literally thousands of students and parents. His true devotion and dedication to the CV music program as he teamed with you and others have left an indelible mark on the history of CV. It is with a heavy heart that I offer you my condolences. I'd like to share with you how I met Mr.Keil, and how my life was better, simply because he was in it.
I can still recall the look on Mr.Keil's face when he walked in to our make-shift band room, handing me this HUGE instrument case, and smiling that charming smile of his-- trying to convince me how "cool it would be for a girl to play the saxophone." Though I didn't want to (at ALL!), I couldn't say no. I went on to play the sax all through high school, and today still encourage my own children to play.
Mr.Keil had such a profound impact on my life- by not only introducing me to music, but also encouraging me to be a part of the band- where I have made lasting friendships and memories. He was everything you would want in a teacher, and much more. I was so blessed to have him in my life, and will continue to hold his memory in my heart.
May God bring you comfort and peace always.
