Add memories that will last forever

Not sure what to say?

September 22, 2011

Dear Aunt Ruby, Lee, Lynn & Mark,

We were saddened to learn of Uncle C.V.'s passing. We will remember him for the gentleman and great sport that he was. An uncle like him gives us something to aspire to.

It warms my heart to know that he is sharing a big hug with my mama, and that C.V. is making her sweet laughter, just like he always has. Mama would always light up when she spoke of Uncle C.V. and Aunt Ruby. I always tried to show my best when I was with him, not only because of the way mama loved him, but because of the good impression and influence he had on me. As we grow wiser, we learn what our treasures are. I enjoyed the times when I could talk with C.V., and I regret that I must now wait awhile before I can have another good conversation with him. He is a true representation of the "Greatest Generation".

We miss y'all and love y'all, and Aunt Ruby we love you to pieces.

Miss Ruby and Family,I want to tell you how sorry I am for the passing of Mr.C.V. Being a neighbor of his I always enjoyed Mr.C.V. coming home from work...yes still working at 85....or close to it... I enjoyed talking to him as he was almost close to the house.Even when my dad was still living,Mr.George ,Mr.CV, and daddy sat outside telling jokes and remeincing about their good ole days. Mr.CV's contagious smile and vibrant nature was such an inspiration to us all. Prayers and thoughts to you all. Dotti and Rodney Wilson

Mark,

I am sorry to hear of your father's passing. As a boy, whenever I would be at your house playing baseball or basketball or doing whatever, he always smiled and said hello to me. One memory I have is you telling me that C.V. stood for "citrus vernon". May God bless you and your family, and give you comfort and peace.

He fought his battle bravely and now it was time to hear his father say, "Welcome". All of you know Harold and I really love to come to visit and cook out, talk about family, laugh and watch our favorite sports. All of you have such wonderful memories to help you get through this sad time. We will continue our prayers as we know God's love will get us through.

Dear Family,
In the brief 10 years we have been CV & Ruby's neighbors they have been wonderful to get to know. CV truly loved his family, gardening, and meeting people. He once told us, when asked, if he had any trouble with raccoons getting into his garden he replied,...No, I've been gardening here for 23-years and have @ 35 raccoons buried in the back yard. He had a great sense of humor. You are very fortunate and blessed to have such a close knit family. May the Lord bless you durning this time.

It was with a great deal of sadness that I heard of C.V.'s death. I've never met a more wonderful group of siblings than C.V. and his brothers and sisters. I always enjoyed seeing Uncle C.V., Ruby, and the rest of his family. He was such a vibrant, cheerful, enthusiastic man that was loved by all that knew him. He will be sorely missed.
