Caldwell Jones always carried his self as a Gentleman off and on the court and was always willing to sacrifice to help others...RIP. CJ

When I began my college career at Albany State, Caldwell introduced me to college basketball by blocking every shot I took that was near him. Mainly because of him, I sincerely worked on my game and became a better player. Caldwell was a great team mate and friend. Even though we have not conversed over the years, I have always had the highest respect for him, still. To the family, may our Father God bless, strengthen, comfort, and keep you during this particular time of hardship.
Sincerely,

Robert Rhodes

I first met Caldwell Jones in Houston Texas at The Fond'e Recreation Gym over 20 years ago playing basketball. He was very modest and quiet person, but once he hit the court he was a shot blocking and rebounding machine. Later we became teammates as well as friends and he left a lasting impression on me, he was the difference between amateur (me) and professional (him) like his brother Major Jones. The Jones family are men of distinction and it has been nothing but joy to be acquainted with such honorable people as friends and fans. My deepest sympathy to the family during their time of bereavement and may God continue to bless them.

Praying that God will continue to strengthen and comfort my Family. I remember, as a child, standing on the front porch, and waiting for Caldwell to pass by our house on the tractor, and wave to us, as he was on his way to help his dad work on the farm!

I am so sorry to hear of Caldwell's passing. I remember him coming to the dining hall at "ASC" and everyone looking to watch him bend down to get thru the door because he was so tall. He was a funny and serious guy. He will be missed.
