Calvin H Christensen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather died peacefully April 9, 2012. Cal was born April 15, 1917 to Samuel P. Christensen and Florence Harrison Christensen. Cal lived an amazing 94 years on this earth in which time he impacted so many lives; Cal will be missed by many. Cal graduated from West High School then went on to serve in the Civilian Conservation Corp. He then served our great country in the US Army in 1944-1946. Much of his service was in Italy.
Married to Bella Lavon Andersen (divorced) Dec. 10, 1940, having 4 children, Ronald C, Vicki J, Vance L and Ricky A. Married to Christel J Morgan (deceased) May 10, 1960. Endowed and sealed for Time and Eternity in the Salt Lake Temple Sept. 29, 1979. Inherited 3 children, Paul A Minardi, Christel A Morgan and Michael J Morgan. Married Shirley Lorraine Pryor August 15, 2000 and inherited Kent L Pryor, Susan A Crawley and Scott C Pryor. All of his children natural and inherited loved Cal; he had an amazing impact on their lives. Retired from the Dept. of Defense as Personnel Officer.
Cal is preceded in death by his eternal companion, Christel; sons, Ronald and Ricky; and daughter, Vicki. He is survived by wife, Shirley; son, Vance (Linda); stepsons, Paul Minardi (Mary), Mike Morgan, Kent Pryor (Heidi), Scott Pryor (Kaelynn); and stepdaughters, Christel Morgan and Susan. Cal had 28 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State St., Midvale, UT on Sunday, April 15, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, April 16 at the West Jordan 28th Ward, 2700 West 7000 South, starting at 11 a.m. Family and friends may visit from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Cal will be interred at Sandy City Cemetery, 9000 So. 700 E., Sandy, UT. www.goffmortuary.com
