Dear Delores and family,
It has been years since I visited Dr. Halliday. When I read about Calvin's passing, I was very quickly reminded of some humourous memories about some of my visits to the his office over the years. I first met Calvin when in 1964. I was 6 years old at the time and terrified of the dentist. I found it kind of neat how he would hum a tune while he was examining my teeth. When he stopped humming the tune, I knew right away he found something wrong. Often I'd hear him working on one of the other patients in one of the neighboring rooms, while I was waiting in the chair. Soon I would hear his humming getting closer and I'd feel a light thump on the top of my head and he would humourly ask how I knew he was still around. (This happened because I was a bit lax at keeping up my regular appointments) For a while I worked at the parkade where Calvin parked his car when he working out of the McMillian Building. I recall Calvin used to drive a blue 67 T-bird with a white roof. His car was a four door version of the car that had the suicide rear doors. (the rear doors were hinged at the rear edge of the doors, like some limosines) Anyway, during my last visit which was sometime in the eighties, I asked him about the car. If I remember correctly I think he told me it was given to him as a gift from wife Delores. I think he still had the car at the time. I remember commenting to him that it is a rare car. Anyway I'm glad I got to meet Dr. Halliday. He was an excellent dentist and a really good guy to talk with. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Dear Kelli and family,
I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. Since hearing the news, I've had a flood of memories of him when we were young. Looking back as a parent now, I realize his extreme level of patience for us. But I always knew how much he loved you. Sending lots of love and hugs.

My condolences to the Halliday family. Dr. Halliday's calm nature made my trips to his practice a pleasant experience for someone who had been terrified of going to the "Dentist" before. I'm sure he will be missed by all.
From an former patient and friend. Carmen Keller
