Knew Cal for a long time at NET, he was one of the nicest and most caring men to work with. I always enjoyed our morning talks in his tool room. You'll be missed Cal but I know you will make Heaven an even brighter place.

My memory of my Cousin Calvin will be forever sweet as well as sad since we had just connected for the first time 4 months ago. We bonded immediately as if we had known each other our entire lives which was as it should have been. We were born in the same month; our birthdays 5 days apart. My heart will forever be missing the piece that belonged to him. He, the first born male cousin and me the 1st born female cousin; our parents the eldest male and female McIlwain siblings. I have lost my counterpart and sidekick for uniting this family after just finding him. We had made great plans for future excursions into our new "cousinhood". My condolences to the rest of his family whom I have not met yet. I know how they feel. My heart is broken and I miss him so very much..

It is distressing to learn of Cal's passing, and I offer my condolences to CJ and the other family members. I first met Cal when he was on the old NET test board at 45 Forest Ave, and then worked with him for years at Davis Farm Road. Cal was a warm, funny guy who brightened any room he entered. The world is a lesser place with his passing. Rest in peace old friend.

To My Beautiful Cousin Gina, her wonderful husband Calvin, all the kids and their entire family, My thoughts and prayers are with you now and forever. Calvin was a lucky man to have so many that loved him and his family was so lucky for the love he gave. I will always remember the wonderful times I had seeing and talking with Calvin when I came to Maine. I am blessed to have him as part of my Family.

God Speed my childhood friend and next door neighbor. We all played daily together on Montreal St., up on the hill. Hadn't seen you in years, but never forgot you or your siblings. So enjoyed the couple of times we saw your band play at Old Orchard and you got to meet my husband and he you. Prayers and healing thoughts for your family.

My sincere condolences to all of the extended McIlwain family. I was at PHS with Cal, but didn't know that until we became friends while working "outside" for "Ma Bell". My grandfather passed away at Gosnell while Calvin was there and it happened to be on the day that the family had a beautiful celebration with music that I was able to be a small part of. What a beautiful tribute to this man. I did not know him, but wish I did.

We had so much fun playing in the street, football, hide and seek, and just hanging out. Calvin and I wrote on Hill Kids Past and Present, about how much fun we had playing on Montreal Street.
