To the Parrish family:
Mrs. Parrish was my reading teacher my sophmore year in high school at Cooper High School. She had been the first black female teacher I had since the first grade back in North Carolina. Mrs. Parrish was also my favorite teacher. She was truly a no nonsense woman and I loved that about her. She not only helped me with my class work and my reading skills but she also helped me with my personal problems as well. Being a teen mom in high school was hard and there were times I wanted to quit but she wouldn't let me. Over the years I have thought so much about her and her daughter Camille, who would later become my caseworker. Mrs. Parrish will truly be missed. Not just by her family but also by those of us, her students, who she had a great impact on. My condolences to you all. God bless.

So sad to hear of her loss. My most favorite teacher. I went to school with her daughter who we called Deedee. She actually bought the outfit my oldest daughter came home from hospital I when she was born.
