SFC Zapata was a awesome mentor too me during my time at the TTC at camp parks. Together we instructed some of the finest 92Y supply sergeants in the business. Doing his time at parks him and I spearheaded the concept on the one army school system. Which meant we instructed several active duty soldiers. With out SFC Zapata hardwork an dedication too duty we could have never pulled it off. He is a symbol of excellence to the US Army
Reserve. It was my honor to have had the privilege to serve with him as an instructor. He was the best in the business. He will be greatly and dearly missed, may he forever Rest In Peace

No words can fully explain SFC Zapata's character, he was a devoted and dedicated Soldier, got the job done, hard worker, mentored many Soldiers to excel and step up on the plate, he would say if I can do it, you can do even better. His love and leadership was above it all, an exemplary n devoted Soldier I will miss. Rest In Peace you have left behind many dedicated and strong determined Soldiers who because of your leadership will LEAD

Drill Sergeant "Patta" and I served together in Bravo Company, 2nd Battialion, 3rd Brigade, 91st Division, in Clovis California, during his early days as a Drill. This kind humble man was most effective as a DI. His devotion to duty was matter of fact. I miss most, his quiet sense of humor. Carry On Drill Sergeant.

My condolences to the Zapata Family. Camilo was a kind and honorable man who gave much of himself to help others. He was a good role model for the youth he supervised during his time with us and I was proud to have him as part of my team. His caring efforts to positively change the lives of youth were admirable and sincere. He will forever live on in the hearts of those touched by his beautiful spirit. Let us not mourn for our friend, but rather let us be glad that such a man ever lived and that we were blessed to have know him.
