Funeral services for Ms. Candace Ann “Candi” Burns Johnston, 59, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 3, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time Friday, November 3, 2023, at the funeral home.
Candi was born on July 21, 1967, in Vernon Parish, LA, and passed away on October 30, 2023, in Monroe. She was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church. Candi was a very giving person and if she liked you, she might just out of the blue make you an afghan. Being crafty, Candi would make candles, afghans, and crocheting to sell and give as gifts. One of her most important things was to make sure everyone received a gift from her at Christmas. Candi loved animals of all kinds.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Johnston; father, Bill Burns; grandson, Abel Lee Xander Johnston; and brother, Scott A. Burns.
Survivors include her daughter, Kayla Johnston; grandchildren, Gabriel, Noah and Isiah; mother, Sharon Burns; siblings, Dewana Evans and husband Allan, Samantha Burns, James Burns and wife Taylor, Gracie Burns, Elizabeth Burns, and Drew Burns; and husband Gill Johnston.
Pallbearers will be Michael Stephens, Patric Watson, James Baker, Andrew Worley, Jeremy Bennett and Billy Barlow.
Memorials may be made to North Monroe Baptist Church.
