Candice Jeanette “Candy” Betts of Davison age 69, died Wednesday December 21, 2022 at Hurley Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Wednesday December 28, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 404 Dayton St. Davison, Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski, Celebrant. Private Inurment will be held at St. John Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon Wednesday until time of services at the church. The family has requested NO FLOWERS and Facial Masks be worn; contributions may be made to Michigan Lupus Foundation, Michigan Diabetes Association, or Michigan Kidney Foundation in Candy’s memory.


Candice was born in Flint Michigan on February 22, 1953 the daughter of the late James and Ruth (Sylvester) DuCap and has resided in the Davison area her entire life. She was joined in marriage to Timothy Betts on May 25, 1974 at St. John Catholic Church, Davison. Candy attended St. John School and was a graduate of Davison High School Class of 1971; she later graduated from Ferris State College and was a member of the Zeta Tau Delta Sorority.  Candice loved to travel and had been to numerous states including Alaska, along with her traveling she enjoyed camping with family and friends. She loved to cross-stitch, and spent many hours scrapbooking, and could be found often reading a good book. She loved time with family and especially her grandchildren.  She was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Davison and was a Pharmacist at Lapeer Regional Hospital until her retirement.


She leaves to cherish her memory husband Tim, son Neal and wife Amy Betts, daughter Theresa Betts and husband Anthony Monastra, and loving grandchildren: Emma, Henry, and Conall. Also she leaves her siblings: Ken and wife Robin DuCap, Jozann and husband Donald Burgin, Nancy and husband Brian Kramer, Virginia Laguerre, Patricia and husband John Ackerly, Gabrielle and husband Augustine Zamarripa, Gerald DuCap, and Kelly DuCap. Surviving aunt Katherine and husband Richard Saunders, uncle Henry and wife Doloris Sylvester, brother-in-laws: Jeff and wife Elaine Betts, Dan and wife Lori Betts, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and special friends.
