Cara Ransom Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 31, 2025.
Cara Beth Ransom (née Weekes), 65, of Cuba, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025. Born on November 21, 1959, in Sullivan, Missouri, Cara lived a life rooted in faith, family, and compassion.

Cara graduated from Cuba High School in 1978 and in her thirties she went on to earn two associate degrees-one from Metro Business College and another from Rolla Technical Institute. Her dedication to learning and personal growth was evident throughout her life. She later built a long and fulfilling career as a receptionist then later a patient service representative at Mercy, where she served with warmth and professionalism for twenty-three years before retiring.

After retirement, Cara embraced a new chapter of joy and rest by moving in with her son Isaac and his family. She often referred to this time as "living the good life care free," surrounded by those she loved most.

Cara's greatest pride was her family. She was the devoted mother of two sons: Isaac Ransom and his wife Michelle; grandson Alex Benitez; and son Nathen Ransom and his wife Kara; and grandchildren Parker and Paisley. Her love for her children knew no bounds-she raised them with strength, humility, and unwavering support. She cherished every moment spent with them and their families, finding joy in even the simplest of gatherings.

She is also lovingly remembered by her brother Matt Simpson and his wife Becky and their daughter Emily; her sister Tommie Ault; her sister-in-law Rachel Weekes and her sons Cory Weekes and Caleb Weekes.

Cara was preceded in death by her beloved mother Arlene Simpson; her brother Clay Weekes and brother-in-law Chris Ault; and her granddaughter Paige Trinity-Leigh Benitez.

Faith was the cornerstone of Cara's life. Having accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age, she remained steadfast in her beliefs throughout the years. She raised her sons in a church-centered home, instilling strong spiritual values that continue to guide them today. Known affectionately as a "Prayer Warrior," Cara was always ready to lift others up in prayer. Friends and family often turned to her for spiritual encouragement, knowing she would not only pray for them but also rally others to do the same.

Cara found joy in life's everyday pleasures-visiting family, getting her hair done, attending school functions or sporting events for her grandchildren, watching Jeopardy with Isaac, or enjoying thoughtful conversations about Bible prophecy with Michelle. She delighted in good food shared at favorite restaurants or during trips taken with loved ones or through church outings.

A gentle soul who gave love freely and received it abundantly in return, Cara touched countless lives through her kindness, faithfulness, and enduring spirit.

May the memory of Cara Beth Ransom bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A visitation will be held at Steelville Assembly of God Church on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 10 am to 11 am, and the Memorial Service will begin at 11 am.

Prayers and much love to all of Caras family. I will always remember her as the kind lady that always directed me to my appointments and to help with keeping me calm since Dr. Visits always seem to make me nervous. She will always have a special place in my heart.
