Cari was truly one of the most profound, amazing, great women writers and storytellers. She was a tour de force. One of a kind. And kind is the word I will always remember about her. She had me over for lunch when my father died and her table broke in half as we were eating. We had such a good laugh, saying that was my father acknowledging us remembering him. She was brillant and had many more histories to write. I will also remember the times at Cannes together. You will be missed. With love, Virginia Lynch Dean
