So sorry to just be realizing that Dr. Andrus had passed away a few years ago. He was my surgeon twice and I could not have asked for a more compassionate, clear headed, straight forward doctor. He definitely lives on in all of the patients he helped. What an amazing man.

Hard to believe how quickly time passes, Noelle. Thinking of you and hope you are continuing to heal and getting some joy from all the memories.

After reading the Memorial posting about Carl, I am amazed at all he accomplished in his life, yet he was such a humble man. Without a doubt, Rochester was fortunate to have you as are those of us who knew you.

I was his patient, and appreciated him so much, beginning in 1999. Later, I'd often see him at the end of an afternoon, perfectly dressed, doing some grocery shopping at Wegmans. The final time, when he had lost weight and walked with a cane, I realized he was now the patient. Forward we all go. I was, have been, and AM lucky to have known him.

Very thankful to have had Dr. Andrus for diagnosing my thyroid problems and surgeries. His calmness will always be remembered.my condolences to the family.

Dr. Andrus was my mother's surgeon in '95 when she had breast cancer. She has been cancer free since. I recall her speaking very highly of him at that time. At work, our paths had crossed a few times and I too found him to be a kind and gentle man. He will be missed. My sincere condolences to his family.

I am truly sadden for the loss of Dr. Andrus. He was a very very kind Doctor. He had taken care of me for years. He was a gentle soul. You will be truly missed Dr. Andrus. Thank you for all you did for myself and my family!!! My condolences goes to your family. May God comfort them at this time of need! Rest easy Dr. Andrus. We will meet again one day. I worked in the PACU at Strong Memorial.Hosp.for many years.Dr.Andrus would escort his patients into the room.I remember chatting with him now and then and how his face would light up each time I asked him how his children were doing.

Dr. Andrés was my mother's surgeon for breast cancer in 1989. His surgical skills saved my mother's life. His gentle and caring demeanor was so helpful to her throughout her illness. My mother is now 88 years old and has been cancer free for 28 years. My heartfelt condolences to the family.

it was with great sorrow that I read about Carls' passing. he was my patient but more than that a friend. I always looked forward to seeing him. he was a sweet gentle man , a person this world could use more of.

I will always remember Dr. Andrus for his kindness and compassion towards patients and colleagues alike. As a nurse at SMH for 25 years, he certainly made an impact early on in my carreer, and I am sure for others, many years to follow. Many blessings to your family.

As a neophyte nurse in the Emergency Department at Strong, Carl was called for a consult on a patient who had hypothermia. While examining the patient, Carl taught me about hypothermia and the treatment. Our paths crossed many times over many years. Some years later, he took care of my mother who had breast cancer, and needless to say, I was glad she selected Carl as her surgeon because he was always calm and steady as he went. He was a great man, and I am saddened that the world has lost him. Condolences go to his family.

So sorry to hear of Dr. Andrus passing he was my surgeon in 1998 of breast cancer, and he saved my life I am 18 yrs cancer free in October He was a great surgeon and caring Doctor, God Bless You All.

Carl was a a kind and generous man. He was a great father to two fantastic friends. His heart was completely pure. There was only good in him. It makes me so sad to think he is not here. With love, Jake
