Carl Richmond Bennett

Services for Carl Richmond Bennett, 70, of Lufkin, will be held at 10: a.m. Thursday, August 10, 2017 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Willard Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Bennett Cemetery in Trinity County. Mr. Bennett was born January 24, 1947 in Apple Springs, Texas, the son of the late Mable (Turner) and John R. Bennett. He passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 in a local hospital. Mr. Bennett was the caretaker of the family. He was a gentle man and always listened more than he talked. He was a kind and patient man. He loved his grandkids and enjoyed any time with them. He was a small engine mechanic and a hard worker. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid gun lover. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patricia Bennett of Lufkin; daughter, Pamela Bennett of Lufkin; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Billie Jean Scogin, Linda Stephens, Carolyn Whisenant and husband Jerry, and Doris Loeffler and husband Charles; brother-in-law, Willard Anderson; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Carl Richmond Bennett, Jr.; daughter, Patricia Ann Bennett; and two sisters, Annette Anderson and Betty Barrett. Pallbearers will be Ernesto Maldonado, Jesse Maldonado, Raymond Maldonado, Bennie Maldonado, John Wright and Billy Wright.
