My condolences to the entire Rader family. In my time at the Region 5 office, we (I) relied heavily on Carl to "take care of business" in Shawnee as well as do arbitrations for not only Br. 5521 but outside of his local. His counsel was invaluble. He was a good leader, a good man and a good friend.

I met Carl when I started working at the Blue Valley post office in 2007. I remember how always seemed to find a balance between the work load on his route and being our union president. I appreciated the fact that even though I started being a letter carrier later in life, Carl was still willing to try and impart his wisdom he had gained during his career. I will always remember his compassion for others and his sense of humor at work. I was fortunate enough to have known him even if it was for just a few years. My condolences to his family.

I knew Carl so long ago, he still had hair. He was a fierce competitor on the racketball court, and equally as fierce dealing with Postal Management as a Union Steward. He will be missed.
