Every moment with you was lively, thoroughly enjoyable, and plain old fun. Coaching with you was one of the highlights of my life. Thank you for everything my friend. Miss you and David, both great human beings.

My family and I were blessed to meet Coach here in Boise while he was out for one of his daily "walks," which due to a condition he had with his esophagus, was driving around the neighborhood we share. I have had some pretty nice cars in front of my house, and while washing them, coach would pull up and say "looking good!" Or "you're always busy, God bless your heart." He would always end our conversations with "God bless you, be safe." I'll never forget those words. You will definitely be missed and forever in our hearts coach.

I met Carl my father-in- law sometime in 2006, when his daughter Christina and I first started dating. I can remember her telling me that her Dad was a football coach. After hearing he was a coach, I honestly can´t say I was not nervous to meet him for the first time as I remember how hard some of my coaches were on me when I played football in High School. One of my fondest memories was when Christina and I drove to Bullhead, City, Arizona together so I could meet Carl. I was pleasantly surprised on how welcoming Carl was and how he accepted me into his family with open arms. I´ll never forget when I asked you to give away your beautiful daughter away so that I could have a live long companion, the loving mother of my children Victoria and Isabella. I am blessed to be your son-in-law, and you always labeled me as just your son. Dad, I know you are loved by many family, friends and players, your presence will be greatly missed. Seeing you in action taught me, to always be a God fearing man, thank you for showing me what that actually looks like in real life. Love you Dad.

I met David Ferrill, Carl's younger brother, when I was in eighth grade. I remember waiting for Carl to visit, from Denver, for Christmas. His mom, brother and sister were just so excited. This was big brother Carl, a star athlete, a successful Coach, an entrepreneur and someone who when he walked into the room all the attention was directed at him - specially the women. Of course his arrival was grand, driving a Datsun sports car a 240Z, or as another friend identified as a 24 OZ.
Carl was treated like a "King", mom was cooking enchiladas and David was quickly in his place scratching his head. I knew I was in when Carl called to me, "a pencil neck" jump in and take over. When sister Earlene walked in, no one was prouder of sister then Carl.
Over the next ten years I would visit Denver and then out to California to visit with David. We stayed with Carl and Carl would have a long list of jobs to do. Carl was a leader in Southern CA high school football. He also owned a semi pro football team. Carl loved ceremonial events, dinners with coaches, awards for his players and meeting with "boasters" of his programs. But come Saturday it was off to the beach with the two "pencil necks" along. Carl would had us some money and told to "get lost" but be home by mid night.
Carl would marry and go off to Coach at UNLV and father two beautiful baby girls who he adored. I would visit with him and his family often. Over the years we would cross paths regularly and it was always seeing a big brother. I would help him with his efforts with the NFL Alumni and efforts to raise money for the program at Highlands University. I will always remember the golf tournament in Laughlin.
Time quickly passed and we entered a time when so many of the family passed. Carl and I cried together when his brother David died. Carl was one the strongest persons I ever met, but also was he was a person who cried. He cried but then he would lead us a prayer. God would restore our strength.
Carl I loved you like a brother and my heart is heavy. But I also know you are welcomed he heaven by you mom, uncles and other family members. I know that David and your daughter are so happy you are with them. I always say that God gives us memories as medicine to help deal with the pain of losing a loved one. Well you have provided and overdose of medication!
God bless Earleen, Dawn Dee, and Stacey. Together we are strong, "teamwork"!

Thank you for the love you showed us all when we were kids. Taking us to the Rams practice was incredible. Was always proud you were my uncle, if only through my aunt and cousins. Much love to the hole family. From Joe Fischer

Coach, thank you for taking a chance on a little known kid from Albuquerque, NM. In all my years of coaching I referred back to many lessons I learned while playing football for you at NMHU. May God bless your family during this time.

These are just a few memories of Carl aka: "Big Dog."
When I started to date David, Carl said... Listen tomatoes cakes, he may act like the "Big Dog´" but don't be fooled, I´m the "Big Dog!´
Carl, Earlene, David, Dawn Dee, Stacy, VZ, Bob, Christina, and Felisa will always be my extended family.
Carl is now in paradise with his many family and friends. And I'm sure he is bossing everyone around! LOL!
And as Christina said, this family is full of Jesus Christ! May God continue to bless you all greatly! Love you, Julie

Coach, Nobody cared more about their players than you. You were tough but caring and would do anything for people that were close to you. You taught me so much and thank you for bringimg me with you to NMHU to play football. I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for you. Love you coach!

Coach, you will be missed. I will never forget the lessons you taught me in the football and life. You believed in me and gave me confidence to reach my potential. You were in my life for a short period but your impact will last a lifetime.

Carl you taught me so much in a short time. I am forever grateful for you allowing me to study and mentor under you. The lesson about the game and life I still use to this day. There is not a moment in this college football profession that I don´t recall some of or use some of your teachings to me. Rest In Peace.

Dad, you are my Hero. My mentor. The person I look up to most in this world. I promise to teach my children Christian values as I homeschool them and throughout their life. You are my inspiration to try and always do the right thing and you are who I aspire to be. I love you.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me Phil 4:13
