Carl E. Graves

Carl E. Graves, 87, of Dover died Thursday, April 23, 2009 in the Assisted Living quarters at Park Village Health Care Center. Born May 29, 1921 in Dover he was a son of the late Joseph and Bertha Grover Graves. His wife, Mella Miller Graves who died on June 19, 2006; two brothers, William and Russell Graves and a sister, Marie Moser, also preceded Carl in death. He retired from Plumbing Contractors and Supply after 36 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Dover and was also an Army veteran of WW II having served in the 95th Infantry Division. Carl is survived by his two daughters, Bonnie (husband, Harry) Wood of Strasburg and Linda (husband, Michael) Gorrell of Cincinnati; son, Edward (wife, Diane) Graves of Hilliard; sister, Nellie Dummermuth of Phoenix, Arizona; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 27, 2009 at 1:30 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Bruce McLaughlin officiating. Interment will be at the Bethel Cemetery in Salem Township where the Newcomerstown Honor Guard will conduct military graveside services. Following the burial a luncheon will be held at the Monarch Center. Friends can call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.
