Carl Casimir Hug, Jr., MD, PhD

A giant of a figure and my mentor.

Saint John Neumann community will always be grateful that Dr Hug was so instrumental in garnering funds for the new church sanctuary. All that knew him loved and appreciated him. We will miss seeing him at morning Mass but know that he is in the Communion of Saints and with us still.

What a beautiful tribute for such a great man.

Carl and I worked together on the ABA. He was a wonderful colleague: smart, kindly but firm with candidates attempting certification, had a sensible and reasoned approach to problem solving, was welcoming to new Directors, and was always interesting to chat with at cocktail parties. He and Marilyn were bedrocks of the ABA.

The anesthesia and Emory communities have lost a pillar. His humor and humanistic qualities as well as his knowledge, expertise, and ability to make complex problems simple are hallmarks that all should emulate.

I worked with Dr Hug at Emory from 1977 to 1978 he was a great MD and wonderful person some people you never forget my condolences to his family
