To Marian & family: Our sincere sympathy to you & your family. Carl was a very knowledgeable & personable man & we always enjoyed chatting with him. He also was a very handsome man & the picture of him in his younger years is a wonderful portrait. We miss you here in Guelph but know from the last email Carl sent a few months ago that you are located in a lovely home & moving was the right thing for the two of you. Dear Marian and Family:

We are so sorry to hear of Carl's passing and are very grateful for the nice visit we had with you and Carl in Ottawa last March. Carl was the Chair who hired me and was very supportive when I first arrived at Guelph. Eva and I will always remember his kindness and yours and his witty humour. We are sure you have many fond memories of Carl, as do we and these will keep his spirit alive.
