I worked with Carl for about a year 25 years ago, and he was always delightful to be around. He was always looking for better ways to do things, and I learned from him. In subsequent years I'd occasionally run into him at a supermarket, and was always glad to see that twinkle in his eye that suggested he was about to tell me something that would make me laugh. He was unusually kind and considerate, and I feel privileged to have known him.

We miss you Carl. I'll always remember "the Carl method for taking oxygen saturations" kneel down on one knee, put the machine on their finger and smile at them. ". Carl's loving manner always warmed patients up, enough to get accurate oxygen readings.
