Carl Stanley Roper was born May 31, 1952 to the late Carstell and Barbara Roper. He transitioned from this life on January 2, 2024.

Carl lived a life of Happiness, Peace, Joy, Humbleness, and most of all Love. He was a devoted son and caregiver to his parents. He was a loving brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. To know Carl was to love him because love is what he exemplified. Carl accepted the love of Christ at an early age and never waivered from trusting his Heavenly Father.

Carl graduated from Trezevant High School in 1970 and attended Bethel College. He was employed for 20 plus years at Gaines and New Generation Manufacturing companies. He was also employed by McKenzie Health Care facility. He was a friend to the residents and employees. He brought smiles and laughter by simply showing that he cared about them and their well being.

Carl leaves to cherish his memories a sister, Gloria Bridgeman, and her husband James Bridgeman of Jackson, TN; nephews, Philip Bridgeman, of Jackson, TN and Jason Bridgeman and wife Chontel Bridgeman of Jackson, TN; great nephew Demari Carter of Jackson, TN; great nieces Maya Bridgeman and Sara Bridgeman of Jackson, TN and Imani Bridgeman of Atlanta, GA. Carl will be greatly missed by his loving cousins, friends and neighbors.

Funeral Services for Mr. Roper will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at McLemoresville Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America (CPCA), 180 Adams Street, McLemoresville, TN. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. There will be a public viewing on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Mercer Brothers Funeral Home, Jackson TN.

All arrangements and services are under the direction of Mercer Brothers Funeral Home, Jackson TN.

I didn't know Mr. Roper, but I know his upstanding nephews. With love and protection for a loved one, to honor, reverence and grace for our ancestor in our hearts. I send my sincerest condolences to the family.

I had the pleasure of taking care of Mr. Roper at dialysis over the past three years. I always looked forward to seeing him. He always had a smile, kind word or something funny to say. I never saw him mad or upset. What a sweet, kind man he was. I miss him so much. He was a bright part of my day. Thomas Davis

Carl is so compassionate and always make sure that he served his family when we came in from Chicago. When we asked Carl to visit Chicago, he would say "No, Chicago has too much crime and then we both would laugh.
