Schindler, Carl "Moe",
91, of New Albany, passed away on April 10, 2015.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Virginia "Ginnie" Schindler; four children and their spouses Terry (Brenda) Schindler, Sue (Pat) McCune, Carla (Kevin) Harrod, Pam (Brian) Hobbs. nine grandchildren, Amy Schindler Moreland, James (Jill) McCune, Jennifer (Will) Detlefsen, Kristi (Scott) Nauman, Brent Schindler, Jaclyn Schindler, Randy Hobbs, Mike (Melissa) Hobbs, and Tom (Charissa) Hobbs; and 11 great-grandchildren called him grandpa. In addition, he was the sibling of Katherine Hadley, Mary Kasse, Louis Schindler, Joseph Schindler, and William Schindler who all preceded him in death. He is survived by many of his nieces and nephews and their families.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday April 13, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a rosary being prayed at 3 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church (415 E. Eighth Street, New Albany) with burial and military honors to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rauch Inc. or St. Mary's Catholic Church. To leave a special message for the family, please visit www.newcomerkentuckiana.com.
