Carl Schnitzler Obituary

Carl SCHNITZLER

October 28, 1925 - April 28, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden death of our dear father. He passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2016 with his loving family by his side at Ajax-Pickering Hospital. Carl was 90 years young. He will be lovingly missed by his wife Helen of 70 years. Loved father of Carol-Ann Morgan (Doug), Donna Laidler (late Bill Laidler), Darlene Dutil (Ghyslain), David Schnitzler, Jeffrey Schnitzler (Jackie). Cherished grandfather (gong gong) to Scott, Kimberly, Jennifer, Chad, Elyse, Dylan, Mitchell, Evan and Ryan. Proud great-grandfather to Braydon, Ty, Austin, Jordan, Kylie and Olivia. Survived by his brother Walter Schnitzler. Predeceased by his brothers Raymond and Robert and his sister Audrey. Will be missed and remembered fondly by nieces, nephews and many friends. Many thanks to the staff of Ajax-Pickering Hospital for their care of our Dad. The family will receive friends at Courtice Funeral Chapel, 1587 Highway 2, Courtice (905-432-8484), on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 10 a.m. until time of service in the chapel at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Humane Society or the Royal Canadian Legion - Poppy Fund would be appreciated. No doubt, "flights of angels" took Carl to his rest. We know death is a part of life however it is never a timely visitor.
I only met Carl on a few occasions. It seemed to me that he was a kind, gentle and funny man. You were all so lucky to have known him and I wish I too had known him better and a lot longer. My deepest condolences to his many family members and his numerous friends
