Carl Russell Smestad

Carl was a great friend and my brother-in-law that I have known for nearly 70 years. I love my sister and had a great friendship and admiration for her husband. Since my mid teens , we hunted and fished together till the time I left for College. I cannot recount the many number of times we Grouse hunted together but I do remember some of the most exciting hunts we had. He was a role model for me and I will surely miss him, but I will always remember him and the wonderful times we shared together. Joseph Ripley, Rootstown , Ohio.

Carl Smestad was a terrific Telephone Repairman, back in the days when telephones and lines could actually be repaired. It was a privilege to work with a man like Carl, and to learn from him. My sympathy to his family.
