Carl Billy Stanton, age 63 of Pennsville died Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Christiana Hospital.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Earl and Margaret Stanton.

He served as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps for four years serving in Vietnam during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Stanton retired from Painters Union Local 1331 D.C. 711 where he had been employed as recording secretary for over 30 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving is his wife, Peggy (nee Haddock), sons, George W. Lindle, Jr. of Carneys Point and Justin B. Lindle of Pennsville, sisters, Betty McDougal of NY, Margaret Stanton of MD and Judy Stanton of DE.

He was predeceased by brothers, Herbert Stanton, Earl Stanton, Clarance Stanton, and Edward Stanton.

Graveside services will be held 11 AM Thursday in Finns Point National Cemetery, Pennsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Helen Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown-Stanton Rd., Newark, DE 19713 or to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.

Arrangements are under the care of the ASHCRAFT FUNERAL HOMES, Pennsville and Penns Grove.

I had the pleasure of working with and knowing Billy.In his capacity as shop steward at the Nuclear Power Facilty, he always approached his job as a gentleman and quietly solved problems before they ever reached my desk.He was a good man and will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
