Carl Terzian can only be defined as pure goodness. I met him at The Regency Club in LA where he would host numerous weekly networking breakfasts. He always had a smile and a twinkle in his eye. His disposition was positive and gentle and contagious. I´ve thought of him often in the 20+ years since I moved to the east coast and since I last saw him, occasionally doing a google search to see what he´s been up to. This time, google informed me he passed and such a deep sadness fell over me. The world lost such a tremendous human when he passed. My condolences to his family. What a treasure you had and a privilege to get to call Carl yours.

Carl included me in his events regularly when I was a young lawyer with a fledging law practice. When we were on our feet he helped us with our PR. He introduced me to the nonprofit world where I´m proud of the work I did as a board member. I think he may have been the mystery person who tapped me for various civic opportunities. So much of my professional and personal growth I attribute to his influence. He always made me feel so welcomed and appreciated. I was proud to know him. I just found out he passed six years ago! RIP my dear friend. I´m forever grateful for your influence and mentorship. I appreciate what you taught me as a youngster even more now. You are helping me continue to make a difference in the lives of others.

Lighting this digital candle for eternity is a small, personal tribute to the brilliance of Carl's spirit, good deeds, and generosity.
Through the impact of all three, his light shines through the myriad lessons he taught so very, very many of us during his time with us, as we carry them forward in word, deed, and guiding memories.

I will never forget Carl's amazing networking opportunities. He was WAY ahead of his time, having everyone introduce the 'front' of their business card and the 'back'. I still have many friends and colleagues that I met through Carl. Glad to have known you!

Dear Terzian Family:
I met Carl in early 1980 when I had just passed the bar and was starting out as a lawyer in California. He had been hired by Unocal to assist the legal department with its image. Carl became a dear friend and mentor throughout the rest of my legal career and personal life. His lessons formed my understanding of the business world, always focusing on integrity and follow through. He will be missed by everyone whose life he touched. Emily Boyle

I found an old article from LA Business Journal in 2009 with a photo of Carl at the Regency Club in Westwood -- I think that's the way I will remember him -- gracious, kind, and with an amazing memory for names, like a gracious king or an all-knowing "regent." Every lunch or breakfast with Carl was a dramatic journey as one-by-one people revealed the "other" side of their business card. In an era where conversation is being replaced by tweets, and business cards are digital, Carl was "old school" in the best sense. He always made me feel special -- one day I realized that's the way he made EVERYONE feel ... that's a gift. Maybe that's the best way to honor him -- make someone feel special, and give a little nod towards heaven and think of Carl. I was blessed to have known him.

Carl was an amazing connector of non-profits and for profit professionals here in Southern California, and a profoundly eloquent communicator. I was proud to hear him give the keynote address at a PPP-LA annual conference where he shared not only that he was a proud alumnus from USC but also thankful for the care he received at USC Norris Cancer Center. Carl's passing will leave a void for all of us who knew and worked with him here in Los Angeles. My condolences to his wife Joan and his entire family.

What an honor it was to have met Carl and worked with him over the last several months. Carl graciously took on our small 501(c)(3) non-profit and was kind and generous and I learned a lot from him. He felt like a friend right from the start, somebody that was on your side. I was amazed at his networking abilities and his impeccable memory as he introduced everyone around his table. What a special man .... He was one of a kind. Thank you Carl for touching my life and so many others. Rest in peace.

Deeply saddened by the death of a dear friend and one of the gentlest of gentlemen I've ever known, the one and only Carl Terzian. For decades he has connected tens of thousands of Angelenos with each other, with important causes, and with their own humanity and civility. There is no successor, there will not be another like Carl. But, we who knew him can honor his spirit and keep him alive in our hearts by living in service to the greater good. Love, respect, and gratitude. Condolences to the Terzian family. Carl made Los Angeles and the world a better place. You will be missed, dear man.

Carl was one of the funniest, most engaging people I had ever met. He allowed me to bring my strategic business, marketing & advertising experience to his unique personal branding acumen as I helped build the firm's consumer product PR business. His lessons on networking, public speaking and social responsibility were important ingredients for my success.
In a day long past the invention of the computer, databases and CRM, Carl was happy with his five rolodexes overflowing with thousands of contacts. His wife and his dog seemed to calm him most. Multiple breakfasts, lunches and dinners kept his client list full.
A wonderful boss, husband, father and advisor will be missed greatly by all...

I felt honored and privileged to have known Carl Terzian and to have been part of his wonderful networking group. He made a difference in my life and taught me the importance of building relationships. He made me realize the value of the backside of one's business card - the things that truly matter. Family, civic engagement, service to those less fortunate, God and spirituality. He is an angel watching over all of us. Hopefully we never forget what he taught us.
