Carl Weathers was always firm character. He was a down to earth guy. Carl was a people person. He was born in New Orleans, La and l was born in New Orleans, La also. I remember him playing in Good Times Rocky Action Jackson In the Heat of the Night. Carl Weathers was my hero. He was loyal educated and he was concern of others. With deepest condolences sympathy. I remember Carl Weather at and early age, where he and his mother, Agnes, M J his father, sister Carline on 8th St in New Orleans , La, his had a big motor cycle, we were very young, it were so big.
I would like to give condolence to his mother Agnes, I check on Google she is now 91, We lost touch when. they moved, and Ms Jannie. his grandmother moved to california, but later , I found out he went to St Augustine, so after that he went to California.
I can see why he was able to relate to white folks, we lived with white children , and also played with them.
We were also was surrounded with the Burke family, who were councilmen,and the post master, even though it was segregation, our families were able to live secure from harm.
Thats why he was able to feel free to say I can.

I watched Carl in all 4 of his Rocky movies. One thing I noticed about him is that he had the most gentle eyes I have ever seen. I could tell he was a gentle soul even if he was boxing Sylvester Stallone.

I'm shaken to my very core by the news. I had a chance to see Carl in Rhode Island (Nov. 2023) during what would have been his last signing. But I had to cancel last minute. I feel cheated. Sad for the passing of Carl Weathers, who brought so much to the big and small screen throughout my adult life starting with his portrayal of Apollo Creed in Rocky.
He had connections to Long Beach City College where he played defensive end before transferring to San Diego State in the same position.
I believe his mother was a longtime food service employee at St Mary Medical Center in Long Beach who I remember as being a kind and dedicated person.
Carl Weathers brought a lot of entertainment to several generations for which I am grateful.
So sorry for his early demise.
