Ruth Hall Meeks
Mrs. Meeks, 93, of Pineville, died March 20, 2008 at The Haven in Pineville. She was born June 17, 1914 in Modoc, GA, daughter of the late, John Jordan and Emma Stroud Hall. Mrs. Meeks lived in Wadley, GA as a child and young adult. She married Emanuel Meeks in 1941 and they moved to Albany, GA in 1950. She was a charter member of Avondale United Methodist Church in Albany, GA where she was active for many years until she moved to Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Meeks enjoyed many hobbies including cooking, sewing clothes for her grandchildren and shopping with her best friend, Eva Parks of Albany, GA.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Emanuel Meeks, Sr.; son, Johnnie Emanuel Meeks, Jr.; sister, Bernice Keene; and brother John J. Hall, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryne Sanders and her husband, Rob of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Pamela Sanders Nachnani of Alexandria, VA, David Alan Sanders of Atlanta, GA and Lynn Meeks Murphy of Albany, GA; and three great-grandchildren, Hannah and Melanie Plummer and Robert Nachnani.
Funeral service will be Monday, March 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Crown Hill Cemetery, Albany, GA with the Reverend Ken Myers, Pastor of Avalon United Methodist Church, officiating.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Laurels and The Haven in Pineville and the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region for all of their love and care.
The family requests memorials to Avalon United Methodist Church, 3018 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707.
