My wife and I helped assemble the 5th edition under a shed at her farm in Kendrick, ID in the fall of 1974, taking our newborn son along to "help". For our efforts we received a copy of her Old Fashioned Recipe Book, put together with our own hands. We were so happy to have had that opportunity (and I still have our personal copy of the OFRB). We didn't get a chance to meet her though, as she was off with her kids on one of her promotional and sales trips the day we worked, but we followed her in her triumphs and travails for several years. She was a real force to be reckoned with, and I do hope that my wife, who passed away two years ago, is now comparing notes with her! Rest in peace, both of you special ladies.
