Ernie, Regina and Girls, I don't know where to begin. Your daughter brought so much love to me and so many others. I will miss her until the day I die. It's really been a trial for me my Mom pasted on Oct.5th and now CJ. When I first heard of CJ passing the first thought's was I've got to tell Mom. She thought she was so adorable. But I'm sure she's telling her that herself. The memories I have of that child will live with me always. I have had many laugh's with CJ and many she didn't think were so funny. Our little sweetheart brought so much joy for our family at OTC. I'll never forget on one of her visits at our home, I had put her beside me in the portacrib. She woke up about 3 in the morning and I knew if she saw my eyes opened I'd be up for the rest of the night. I just kind of peeked and she was standing there and watching me. She put her hand on my face and just kept rubing my check. That was priceless to me. I could go on forever, but I'll close for now. Thank you for letting me keep her at our home. My husband and I enjoyed her so much. I know she's talking as fast as her feet are moveing and it's about time, she deserves it. Thank you again for letting CJ into my life. I love her and miss her so very much. Colleen

Regina, Ernie and family,
I am sorry to hear of the loss of your daughter. I cannot imagine losing a child so it is so difficult to put into words how much my heart aches for all of you. As difficult as this must be, know that your "angel" has found her wings and will be at peace. She will now be able to watch over you as you have lovingly done for her these years on earth.

Ernest, Regina, and family,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss of your special angel. She was so precious. God gave her a less than perfect body to live in while she was here on earth, but her perfect soul has gone Home to be with her Heavenly Father and she will have a glorified body in Heaven. She no longer has to work so hard to make her body work better. She gave her love unconditionally to those she trusted to give it back to her. She gave her trust to everyone, but she only gave each of us a few chances to prove we were worthy of that trust. I will forever remember her giggle….things were good with CJ when you heard her giggle. So many times she laughed as her way of telling us that “we finally got something right”. Time and again we heard a loud excited laugh as she “ran” down the hall in front of us. Sometimes she intentionally walked past the door to the place she was supposed to go, and if you asked her where she was going, she broke into uncontrollable giggles and laughter and “ran” faster! She was very good a telling us that something “was not OK.” We often knew what that was: The wrong toy, no toy, the wrong food, not enough food, she didn’t want to work on a particular task right then…. It was the times that she couldn’t tell us that were the most distressing for all concerned. But she’s more than OK now….. and she is able to “tell all” now………. Just imagine…………
I remember taking her snowshoeing on a beautiful spring day. She was very patient with those big things on her feet. She did such a great job, and seemed very pleased with herself when we were done. She always ran very lightly down the hall after snowshoeing. She loved to ride the school’s “big trike” outside. The faster we went the faster she rocked back and forth and made her happy noises, especially on a slight downhill when she didn’t have to work to go fast. My most cherished times with CJ were during our Brain Gym sessions. I helped her with this, which meant we did it hand over hand, close to each other. So many times she would rest her head on my shoulder while we did the “hook-up”. She almost always quieted for the “hook-up”. There is a line in the Brain Gym song that says: “All hooked up and we’re doing fine.” Sometimes she leaned back, looked me right in the eye and shook her head “No” during this line. I always wished she could tell me why “we were not doing fine.” But she’s doing more than fine now….. and she’s able to “tell all” now…… just imagine…….
We all wished we could eat and drink as much as CJ in the run of a day. Food and drink were one of her joys here on earth. She examined very closely every morsel of food and every glass of beverage she was offered. Sometimes after close examination she would look at us and shake her head “No”. But if she was told that was her only choice, she usually ate it – but not without letting us know she was disappointed in us (well, that’s what we chose to think she was telling us). We don’t know where she put it all… It seemed she was never quite full. But she will not be hungry or thirsty any more because she will feast from the Tree of Life and the river of Water of Life now…. just imagine……..
CJ loved noises, especially those she made herself. She enjoyed a drumbeat, rainstick, flute, harp, and rushing water music cd with me. She was calmed by a certain rattle and we tried really hard to keep track of it for her. If it “went missing” she would spend a good part of her day searching the nooks and crannies of the classroom for it – all the while letting us know she was disappointed in us – again….. She could pick her special rattle out of a whole pile of similar ones…. How she loved that rattle. Now she can join a host of other Angels playing heavenly sounds….. just imagine……
There will be an empty place in my heart for a long, long time left by this special angel, but I can’t imagine the emptiness you all are feeling right now. I hope some of these and all of your memories will help comfort you as time passes. You now have a very special guardian angel to help guide you through the rest of your lives…… She was truly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May God give you the strength and support you need to get through your time of sorrow. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.
