So sad to note the passing of Carlos as he was such a kind, generous and compassionate man. I knew Carlos through his love of airplanes and flying. I know he will fly henceforth on silver wings. RIP my friend.

Dr. Acosta did both of my back surgeries back in the 1980's. What a wonderful, caring doctor!!
He spent so much time with each patient and really listened. I wish you all peace at this time and will keep you in my prayers.

This is a great loss; I had only met him once, but he left a lasting impression on me. I was sent to him for a Bulging disk ?? in 2009..and he suggested a injection in my neck; after crying and stating that no one listens anymore; He told me to make sure Physicians listened to their patients, we know our bodies, and Physicians are only the middle man. So he ordered a MRI of my right shoulder, and it showed a torn Right rotator cuff & a calcium buildup on my collar bone. I appreciated that so much more and I always had high respect for him. May GOD comfort his family during this time of sorrow.

Dr Acosta kept me going for many years, 3 back operations over 20 years. I had lunch with him before my last operation at USMD, he said he was retiring and I said this my last operation. There are not words to say that express my love and respect for the "good doctor" he is with God. love to his family

I had the extreme pleasure of working with Dr. Acosta. I consider him my one and only mentor who was great in respect and service to others. We have truly lost a wonderful human being.

May God bring comfort to his family and all of us who had the grace-given opportunity to know this very extraordinary man.

Saddened by the passing of Dr. Acosta. He performed surgery on me in 1987. His sense of humor going along with his skill as a neurosurgeon made the procedure easier. My son and his son were friends in school and I remember seeing Aileen in a store and she asked me how I was doing. To his family - make the God of Peace comfort you all in the months and years ahead. Carlos was an exceptional person.

There are no words that can ease the pain of losing someones beloved. May you find comfort and peace in knowing that your loved one is in God's memory because those who passed are precious in his eyes. Psalms 116:5. You and your family have my deepest condolences.

Carlos was a good and trusted friend, teacher, colleague and mentor. He was my first Chief Resident during Neurosurgical Training at UT Southwestern and Parkland Hospital. A multi-faceted, multi-talented, man who was a highly skilled and compassionate surgeon with a great sense of humor and always with a story to tell. I hope that the sharp pain of his loss will ultimately be replaced by the warm memories of good times spent together.

Dr. Acosta performed surgery on my dad, removing a tumor, extending his life for an additional 22 years. Condolences to the family and many thanks for his great work with my dad!
