CARLOS ESTEBAN CARVAJAL

Carlos Esteban Carvajal, age 60, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on July 7th, 2019 at the VNA Hospice House surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on April 9th, 1959 in Bogota, Colombia to parents Gladys Beatriz Rojas and Campo Elias Carvajal.

He graduated from the University of INPAHU in Bogota, Colombia on December 9th, 1985 with his bachelor’s degree in Hotel Administration.

One of his biggest passions was music, he was a percussionist and performed in various groups during his youth with his main instrument “el guiro” as well as timbales, tambores and maracas.

For the last 30 years he worked at Vincent’s Pizzeria in Vero Beach, FL where he was known as “Charlie” and loved by all of his coworkers. He made delicious Sicilian pizza and the best ricotta cheese.

Some of his hobbies included dancing, swimming, walking in nature, cooking, and enjoying time with family.

Many would describe him as a gentle soul, kind, friendly, humorous, authentic, down to earth, very organized and always cared to act with integrity.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Ruiz and two daughters Nancy and Kacy Carvajal. Other survivors include his four sisters: Gilma Solis, Elsa Carvajal, Nancy Velasquez and Claudia Camacho, his mother Gladys Carvajal, five nieces, four nephews, and a grandbaby who’s due in February 2020. Mass to celebrate the life of Carlos will begin at 12 Noon Saturday July,13 at St. Helen Catholic Church.

Interment will be at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
