I first met my cousin Carlos in 1962 while at Amarillo AFB Texas. He was in uniform and I noticed his name tag Mier. Such an accidental meeting that identified us as close Mier family members! We spent much time on telephone discussing Mier family roots and issues. I miss this!

Familia Mier:
I just heard about my primo Carlos. Grace and I want to convey our symphathies to all of the familia.
I first met Carlos at Amarillo AFB in 1962 when he was in the U.S. Air Force. I was so excited to see another GI with the surname "Mier" on his uniform.
Even though we are miles apart I have always felt "close" to my family in El Paso.
Ahora puedes descansar Primo...Salvador Mier

To Belinda, Melissa and Michelle. My deepest condolences. I will always remember Uncle Carlos as the uncle who took me to my first horse race, the uncle who showed me the greatness of Joe Montana, the uncle who was always dressed sharp and who was always kind to me. My uncle always had a wonderful smile and an unmistakable laugh. When times were hard for our family he was always there to lend support or to be a shoulder to cry on. Looking at these pictures brought back so many wonderful memories. I love you and will miss you Uncle Carlos. My thoughts and prayers go out to my cousins and the family.

My condolences to the family. Unfortunately, I didn't have the honor to know him, but I wish i did. I believe my grandfather, Adolfo, was Carlos Mier's uncle, but unfortunately, I've never known this side of the family. But I'd love to be in touch in the future, if anybody's interested.
