Carly Logan Griffin

Carly Logan Griffin, age 21, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Watauga Medical Center in Boone, NC.

Born April 18, 1997, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of S. Kirk Griffin and Carla Johnson Griffin.

Carly was 2015 graduate of Maiden High School and was currently a junior at ASU in Boone, pursuing a degree in social work. She was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and was a volunteer with The Grandfather Home for Children and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Carly was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Newton. Carly loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed painting and reading, and her favorite holiday was Christmas.

Carly was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Harmon Doc Griffin, Jr; paternal great-grandmother, Lavelle Porter Griffin; maternal great-grandmother, Mary Buckner Johnson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her father, S. Kirk Griffin and mother, Carla Johnson Griffin, of Newton, NC; brother, Cody Spence Griffin of Newton; paternal grandmother, Mary Jean Griffin of Conover, NC; maternal grandmother, Emma Dell Campbell Ritter and husband, Archie of High Point, NC; maternal grandfather, Carlton Johnson and Jackie Bain of Jamestown, NC; uncles, Keith Johnson and wife, Melanie of Zebulon, Todd Griffin and wife, Kelly of Conover, NC, Greg Griffin and wife, Laura of Charlotte, NC; cousins, Ashley and Andy Johnson of Zebulon, NC, Stan, Tyler, and Davis Griffin of Conover, NC, Grant and Grayson Griffin of Charlotte, NC; boyfriend, Bobby Mason, Jr., of Boone, NC; and her beloved dog, Bodie.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church in Newton, with Reverend Brant Hoots officiating. Burial will be private at Conover City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall of Trinity Baptist Church.
