Carmen was my fraternity brother. A larger than life character who set me up with my first job and first date in college and my first and only nickname. A true big brother. This is how I'll always remember him.

Now that the baseball season is upon us, I miss our phone calls when we would talk about what the Sox and Cubs were doing wrong. As long as there is baseball, those memories will stay with me. RIP GOOD FRIEND

As a fellow student, baseball teammate (he pitched and I was the catcher), and daily lunch table mate of Carmen's at Fenwick (1963-1967), I can say he was one of the most memorable guys I've met in my life. He was full of life, a great decent down-to-earth guy, and had a dream of one day playing baseball professionally - and that dream came true!.Back in the day, in high school, that was quite a big dream to tell us about but in the end most of us were not surprised he achieved that dream because he truly believed he could do it. What an inspiring story. My sincere condolences to Carmen's family; he definitely will not be forgotten by those of us who knew him.

My friendship with Carmen began at Sacred Heart grammar school, and continued at Fenwick High School where we both played on the baseball team. Sports brought a smile to his face and a closeness to his friends. Who can forget all the baseball , football, basketball and hockey on the Des Plaines River, what wonderful memories. My condolences to Carmen´s family, rest in peace my friend.

We went to Sacred Heart and then Fenwick together, where we played baseball. Although I hadn´t seen him in decades, I remember Carm as a good guy and fine pitcher. My condolences to his family.

I went to Sacred Heart Grammar School in Melrose Park with Carmen. We also played on the same little league team, the Yankees. The picture is of a senior league Winston Park/Melrose Park All-Star Team, 1964. Carm is at the top right. Rest in Peace, my friend. Nick Nitti
