Carmen Iniguez Rodriguez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 25, 2025.
Carmen Iñiguez Rodriguez, lovingly known as "Prieta," passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 1, 1939, to Guadalupe (Papa) and Gabriella (Ma) Iñiguez, she carried their strength and spirit throughout her life. She was reunited in rest with her beloved husband, David T. Rodriguez, whose memory she held so close to her heart.

Prieta is survived by her three children, Anthony (Lisa Guzman) Michelle and Toby who each carry forward her strength and love. She also leaves behind her stepchildren, David Jr., Rick, Ronnie, Annette, Michael , John and Carlos, all of whom she welcomed into her heart. She had 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Her love also extended to her many step-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sisters Nena, Leonie, Julia, and brother Johnny. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, with whom she loved spending time and sharing special moments throughout her life.

Prieta spent her life in Arizona, where she built a legacy of love, laughter and unforgettable memories.

Prieta was more than a Mother, a Nana, or a Friend - she was the steady heartbeat of her family. She worked hard and showed up, day after day, even when things weren't easy. No matter the challenge, she was there - dependable, loving, and always putting family first.

Her love was the kind that wrapped you up and made you feel special-

Prieta's legacy is felt in the laughter she gave, the strength she showed, and the deep, unconditional love that lives on in her children, grandchildren, and everyone she touched. We'll miss her more than words can say - but we'll carry her with us, always.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 27th at St. Agnes Catholic Church, located at 1954 N. 24th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85008.

The Rosary will begin at 9:30 AM, with Mass to follow at 10:00 AM.

Guests are invited to attend a reception to be held at the same location.

Michelle, Anthony and Toby,

My heart aches for you and all of your family. Your mother always made me feel welcome and accepted in the family. Her place in the heart of your family was reflected in the countless gatherings and endearing moments we all enjoyed together. Thank you for sharing her with us all.

Losing the Matriarch of our family has not been easy. However she was a pillar of strength and left a lifetime of memories of laughter and love which is such a blessing for times like this.

She showed strength in times of adversary and love whenever you walked through the door. She never failed to feed you and boy could she cook. You would never leave her without a good laugh. She had great sense of humor and my husband carries that same gift. You leave her feeling better if you were down because that´s how she was. She taught me a lot as her daughter in law and I so love and appreciate her. What a remarkable woman. We are blessed to have had her in our life and will carry her in our hearts.

My beautiful Aunt Prieta I still can´t believe you are gone. You have always been there for me my entire life. Even more since my mom passed away twenty years ago. My heart is so broken and I find myself crying for you the way I did when my mom passed away.I know I will see you again and that you are in a beautiful place with all of your family. With David and Ma´ and Papa´ my mom Santa, your brothers and sisters and of course Junior.
I was so happy that your kids allowed me to spend the night with you two weeks before you passed. It meant so much to me to tell you how much I love you, and thank you for loving me with all your heart. I was happy to rub your back, knowing that it made you feel better. I wish I could have taken you to the Ching-Ching
just one more time
It was such a blessing to have you live with me, I got to spoil you and let you live with no worries and no bills. I will always try to be there for Anthony, Toby and Michelle. And of course for Celeste my beautiful God Daughter
I Will miss you and pray for you everyday Aunt Prieta!
